Summer Days

April 27th, 2009 kim

I’ve been meaning to post more here. Every morning when I see Henry, it seems as if he’s grown a week older. Sometimes I catch myself looking forward to the next thing or his next milestone, but I always have to remember to just enjoy his little teeny existence and not to rush things (not that I have a choice in the matter anyways). He is very social now and loves to smile and giggle. It MELTS our hearts! Henry attended his first party on Saturday. Our friend’s son turned 2 and there was so many babies there, all born within weeks of Henry’s birthday. I never knew how massive our little Henry was until you sit him next to other babies. He still loves his swings and the mobile is his best friend.  He can watch it forever and he will let you know when it times out!

It’s been hard to find time to manage all of the pictures I’ve taken of him….dumping them onto my computer, sorting, uploading, backing up…and of course some photoshop enhancements. Just when I thought I had a good handle on them, I took a thousand more.  There needs to be more pictures of me with Henry (wink, wink Trevor). I’ve been making an effort to video record him every few days with some mini clips. Just hearing his cries change over the weeks is amazing and I never noticed that much until I heard him cry on his first week.

I remember the first weeks when Henry was born, Trevor and I thought we’d NEVER get out of the house. We truly believed that. I’m happy to say that we get out almost everyday. This past Friday, we took Henry out to the town center and hung out by the water fountain. It was a beautiful spring night.  Yesterday, we took a trip to Georgetown for some Gelato with Uncle Kyle.

Anyhow, I have tons more to talk about, but this single post has already taken me over 2 hours and 2 over-steeped teas between trying to soothe and take care of Henry.

Yaaaawwwnnnn….

It looks like Henry and I must’ve attended the same party. We are all pretty beat. Having time to do anything other than taking care of Henry and getting a decent meal together is a rarity.  Here I am. It’s almost 1:00 in the afternoon and I’m having to decide whether or not I want to try to finally brush my teeth or get pics off my camera and post on my blog. He’s due to eat in 10 minutes and luckily I made a huge pot of baked ziti that we can eat all day today.

Henry’s starting to really smile a lot and make little noises. He makes the cutest little “oh” ever and he repeats it over and over. He’s a different baby when night rolls around and he’s been keeping mom and dad up. Quite a handful, but worth every sleepless minute. Well, I’m off to brush my teeth and if there’s time, I may even brush my hair!

P.S. Something happened to my other posts when we updated on the server so those are gone, but there will be more.

This is the neglected stepchild of my many blogs, so I thought I’d entertain anyone who still visits. =) Here’s Trevor juggling on Christmas. =)

From a distance, we’re celebrating our wonderful 4 years of marriage today. Trevor’s in Florida right now on business, but he sent me these LOVELY fall flowers with the sweetest note. We’re going to officially celebrate this weekend when he comes home. Everyday, I pinch myself and wonder how I got so lucky to have Trevor in my life. Love you babe…Happy Anniversary!

Spreading the news!

August 15th, 2008 kim

Whew! I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but it’s with good reason….we’re pregnant with our first baby! Some of you may already knew, but I’m officially announcing now that we’re past the 13 week mark. I’m not sure how much of me you’ll see around the blog…morning sickness has been kicking my butt, but I’ll try to update whenever I can. Thanks to everyone for all of your support already! We feel so blessed to have you in our lives and for this amazing gift!

I hear wedding bells!

June 25th, 2008 kim

Well, I’ve been hearing lots of wedding bells over years, but these have a particularly nice tune! My long-time friend, maid-of-honor, sister I’ve never had is officially engaged!! Reem is finally engaged to her wonderful sweetheart, Ali and I am counting down…slowly…to October 2009 for their super-fabulous wedding. Saturday, we met up at Hitched to help her pick out her dress. I think we may have found a keeper, but the search continues. Hey, time is on her side! We later went out to an amaaazing brunch. Even the cranberry juice was way tasty. Thanks everyone for a great time. I love you Reem!!! XOXOXO

Barack Rocks!

June 6th, 2008 kim

I’ve never been more enthused about a presidential candidate until now. Trevor and I braved the lines through the heat and humidity yesterday to attend Obama’s rally in Bristow. It was the best crowd to spend those 5 hours or so with. He’s an amazing and inspiring speaker and I’m glad that we could witness it firsthand. I didn’t spend a lot of time taking pictures. We were always busy talking to someone, eating, or trying to cool/dry off, but here are a couple:

Mother’s Day 2008

May 14th, 2008 kim

Mother’s Day was a little different this year with my parents in Texas. Memere, my grandmother, was alone this year so we took her out for an old-fashion Mother’s Day brunch in Leesburg. The food was excellent, but with four courses you know I had to bring leftovers home! It was a really cold and rainy day so we ended up going back to my grandmother’s to play a few rounds of Uno. I finally won a game, but the champion of champions is JJ! The next time we go to Vegas, I’m packing her with me. Here’s a shot from JJ’s camera:

Here we go!

May 5th, 2008 kim

Well, Trevor and I really wanted to expand our family lifestyle photography. I really wasn’t expecting it to happen so quickly, but it’s beginning to snowball into something great! We’ll be posting lots more!

Here’s Trevor coaching these two, but they had their own plans.
